This adventure is on top of the list of most visitors who come to Bethlehem. It starts at Al Makhrour Valley in Beit Jala, which is an exquisite lancscape surrounded by fresh water springs, mountains, caves and relics of small structures that were built by landowners who came to look after their crops. After exploring the area’s bewildering flora and fauna, hikers reach the village of Battir to enjoy a traditional Palestinian meal with the local community. This half-day trip aims to introduce hikers to the many and different attractions in the area including, the Seven Widows Quarter, the Sufi shrines, the water springs, the ancient pools, the historic Jaffa-Jerusalem Railway, the irrigation channels and the magnificent agricultural terraces.
