Established in 2013, the Bet Lahem Festival is normally held in early August, and it is the largest art and cultural festival in Palestine and reflects the synergies between the local communities and international action. The inaugural event hosted around 6,000 visitors, both locals and internationals, including theatre companies, dance troupes and multi-talented performers. Since then, it has become a platform for cultural exchange and a symbol of solidarity. The festival features local as well as international bands and artists from all over the world - Japan, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Germany, etc. The festival has managed to revive Star Street for the space of three days and it is considered elemental for the future revitalization of this historic neighbourhood in the heart of the Old City.
