In 2006, two programs were inaugurated during the opening of Dar Al Kalima College of Arts and Culture: documentary filmmaking and the glass and ceramics program. The College is considered the first of its kind in Palestine with an education focused on performing and visual arts and cultural heritage, stemming for its belief in the importance of art in promoting cultural and community awareness and contributing to the growth and development of Palestinian society. A few years following its establishment, the college introduced tourism studies in its curriculum, considering the importance of the sector in contributing to the Palestinian economy. The College provides high quality programs and educational opportunities to all social sectors, and strives to promote the values of democracy and freedom of thought and expression, all of which contribute to building a well-informed and free Palestinian society.
