The rehabilitation works on Dar Al Sabagh building were recently completed , transforming it into a Diaspora studies and research center. In October 2018, an inauguration ceremony was held on the premises of the building that is located on Star Street in the historic center of Bethlehem. The 150-year-old building is owned by the Sabagh family, who left Palestine in 1938, and became part of the biggest Palestinian Diaspora community in the world - Chile. When members from the Sabagh family came to visit Palestine, they decided to renovate their grandfather’s home, optimize its potential and equip it for adaptive reuse; hence, the establishment of such an important edifice to keep Palestinians in the diaspora communities involved with their homeland and maintain close ties with their relatives in Bethlehem. Dar Al Sabagh is distinguished by its beauty and authenticity.
