The Parish was established in 1891 during the time of the Jerusalem Archbishop Fillip Malouk. Some families in Beit Sahour decided to join the parish, and in 1895, the Patriarchate in Jerusalem built the Church of St. Michael for the newly joined congregation. Over the years, the number of Greek Catholics in Beit Sahour increased and another church, the Lady of the Shepherds was built in 1955, followed by the construction of a seminary in 1958 and the Greek Catholic School in 1965.
